Answering an ad for a job online you find yourself in an office park in the middle of the suburbs. After walking into the building and approaching the empty front desk, well... it's all hazy from there. Now all you see in front of you are hallways, empty conference rooms and staircases. You have two immediate thoughts:
1. How am I gonna get out of here?
2. Damn, I really have to pee.
Backrooms & Bathrooms is a comedic, atmospheric horror game about escaping the backrooms of a mysterious office building. Using a few playing cards and a six-sided die you traverse the different rooms and offices found at LIMINAL Corporation in an attempt to pee, escape or perish trying.
All the rules only take up one page so you can start playing almost immediately and no two games are the same!
Players use their favorite suit from a deck of playing cards to create the Office Building. 10 Cards are used to create the building while the remaining three become the VOID Pile, waiting in the darkness to swap in at a moment's notice.
Flip cards to see what rooms you discover and try to build your EVACUATION PLAN between them. You can win multiple ways and making your way through the top point of the Office Building Card Stack is one of them.
Will you find your way out of the Office Building without having an accident or no clip into the void after p*ssing yourself? Are you in control of your [pants'] fate or is LIMINAL Corporation?

Look, the premise of this single player game is totally stupid, since you explore deserted and strange offices in search of toilets where you can finally empty your bladder. But, as it happens sometimes in games that are both fun and well done, B&B still presents some really interesting exploration mechanics, a kind of cross between a blind solitaire and a maze exploration, all this with the luxury of offering 4 different ends. And I like it when people get serious about stupid things, so I applaud it!
This brought me so much joy, thank you so much for the lovely review! The game did start as a totally stupid idea but I had to see it through!

This is very fun and silly. I managed the completionist ending on my first attempt! I got lucky with high dice rolls but almost maxed out my stats. One more turn and I would have lost.
So glad you had fun! The completionist ending is my favorite win condition and depending on your rolls it can be really easy or really difficult to achieve. I'm glad you got out of there safe!
