A downloadable game

STARCROSS ARENA takes inspiration from tabletop wargames that utilize miniatures to represent troops or operatives. But instead of using dedicated miniatures STARCROSS ARENA uses Playbooks and dice to transform any chess set into a battle-ready arena in a snap!

Playbooks assign names, stats and attacks to five chess pieces making them an immediately playable squad of Units. The game is built on the Caltrop Core System and uses d4s to simulate the success or failure of abilities and attacks of each Unit.

As long as you have a chess set, any STARCROSS ARENA  playbook transforms the same five pieces into any squad we release!

STARCROSS ARENA  takes place on the surface of a living planet named Idin [eye-dihn].

Idin exists to most creatures as a myth or god, rumored to be as old as the universe itself.

But being an ageless, celestial being comes at a big price: boredom.

So, Idin sent out a call to all the creatures of the universe to do battle on her surface. Idin promises to grant the champions of this contest a single Wish

Those who answered the call have their finest combatants teleported to the shifting ecosystems of Idin’s surface hoping to test their combat abilities and win a Wish from the celestial being in the STARCROSS ARENA!

STARCROSS ARENA is a skirmish game for two players who each command a Squad, representing one of the Factions found on planets all over the universe!

Using the skills of their Squad’s Units and Captain, players can ensure victory over their opponent in battle. A game ends when every member of a player’s Squad has been eliminated.

The player with the last Squad standing wins!
