The Big Cheese
A downloadable game
The Big Cheese is a short game set in the 1930s about catching the police informant in an organized crime family...of rodents. As a star member of the Topo Family you are entrusted by the boss Don Mascarpone to Deliver The Rat before the Rat figures out you're on their tail.
With enough Moxie you can shakedown even the toughest Family Members. Just don't generate too much Heat or The Rat will try and whack you before you're done with your search.
Players build out The Family by using a standard deck of playing cards. Just choose your favorite suit and shuffle and then arrange 12 of them on a playing surface face down like this:
These cards represent The Family, the members of the organization that you’ll be shaking down to reveal The Rat, the remaining card set to the side face down for the rest of the game.
The goal of The Big Cheese is to figure out which card is The Rat by using the process of elimination after flipping cards in The Family.

I ran this game solo and then a few times with my sister and we had a blast! Fun and engaging, can be played qwickly or stretched out a bit by adding a journaling component. I made it a little more difficult by reducing the heat counter by two. Will def play again :)
Love to hear you had a good time! And a journaling component is so interesting, wow.
Definitely want to revisit this game in the near future (thinking about making it an adventure for Mausritter) but you're really inspiring me with that journaling component!
Thanks so much for playing <3
